Age: 4 years old exact Birth date unknown

Physical Condition: Physically injured, in spine. Cannot walk without support. Incontinent. Spayed and healthy and gorgeous. Good teeth and nails.

Location: Joshua Tree, CA

History:

Minnie was scared by fireworks on New Years Eve 2026, jumped and tweaked her back. She was brought to emergency vet night of injury, given pain killers and released. Vet records are not available yet, but working to get them.

Owner brought her to Wendy Rall, Canine Therapist for massage and hydrotherapy

Minnie improved after just 2 massages and 2 hydrotherapy sessions. She cannot walk on her own, yet is getting stronger, pushing herself up.

Owner was going to put her down on 1/24/26 because she had emotional and financial stress. She was surrendered to Wendy Rall in order to save her life.

She is in foster care in a loving peaceful home until Tuesday 1/27/26 and needs to get into a rescue or long term foster care immediately.

Diagnosis:

Undiagnosed by a vet. No MRI taken. Therapist believes it’s a mid-spine disk issue that will likely heal within the next couple months with massage, cold laser and hydrotherapy.

Currently:

She is not on pain killers or in any pain, and takes CBD to help with injury.

She is wearing a Help Em Up Harness to help support her when walking and has a sling as well.

She just received her wheelchair at time of report to help her through recovery and will have her first session in the wheelchair later today.

Emotional and behavioral:

Minnie is a very sweet dog with zero aggression. She seems relaxed and happy to be in a peaceful environment. She did a few sad whimpers her first night in foster and is not depressed, she’s very well adjusted and loves her temporary foster Mom and peaceful home. She’s a happy young dog.

Other Notes:

Minnie used to live in a very small apartment with a Mother and young daughter and went on long hikes frequently. She was very muscular and is getting weak in rear end, therefore the hydrotherapy.

No bite history on people or animals. Knows basic commands.

As a puppy Minnie was with an elderly couple who got in over their heads and gave her to a ranch then at 1 year old she went to the owner who surrendered. She’s lived in Palm Desert, CA  for past three years.
